A Tamworth business is celebrating success after being shortlisted for two honours in the 2016 Tamworth Business and Community Awards.

Digital marketing, print and design company Expand Digital won highly commended in the Business to Business Service of the Year category, as well as being shortlisted for the Professional Business of the Year title.

The firm’s managing director Kyle Raffo is no stranger to award success, having won Entrepreneur of the Year at the Tamworth, Lichfield and Sutton Coldfield Networking Awards earlier this year.

Now in its second year, the Tamworth Business and Community Awards was set up to recognise, reward and thank the people and companies who make Tamworth a good place to live and work.

A total of 15 awards were handed out in a range of categories at a prestigious ceremony held at Drayton Manor Park on Friday, November 4, which was compered by well-known TV and radio personality Paul Ross, together with Tamworth’s own radio producer, Alex Farrell.

Kyle said: “The fact we won highly commended for one award as well as being shortlisted for another, shows we are continuing to develop and progress. We are always striving to grow and improve the business and making it to the finals of this prestigious competition, alongside some fantastic Tamworth companies, is testament to the hard work that goes on at Expand Digital.

“Great customer service is at the heart of everything we do, and it’s what led Expand Digital to grow from a one-man band run out of a home office into the large-scale operation it is today and I think the commendation in the Business to Business Service category reflects that. Lots of our business is through referrals from satisfied customers and it’s great that this continues to shine through when it comes to award nominations.”

Kyle (22) was still a teenager when he launched Expand Digital, which started life as a social media business run from the family home. After learning from the best at the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, the young entrepreneur put this knowledge into practise and grew the company into a full-scale digital marketing, print and design company. It now has offices and printing facilities on the Tame Valley Industrial Estate with a dozen employees.

Expand Digital offers web development, digital marketing, printing, embroidery and design services to customers ranging from sole traders and sports clubs to multi-million pound companies.

This year the business is on track to achieve £1million turnover for the first time.
